CHAL SOUTH BAY

Desde hace unos años en la comida de Navidad con mis compañeras de trabajo hacemos un amigo invisible especial. Solamente una hace un regalo y se sortea entre las demás. La ganadora del regalo será la encargada de regalar al año siguiente. Pues bien, el año pasado me tocó a mí (altavoces y auriculares bluetooth que rápidamente se apropió mi hija). Ellas son grandes admiradoras de todo lo que hago, así que pensé ¿Qué mejor regalo que algo hecho a mano por mí? Y como no quería que me pillara el toro empecé a hacerlo esta primavera. He usado casi 5 ovillos de Lorena print de Ice yarns (mezcla de algodón y acrílico). No quería hacerlo de lana por si la ganadora fuera María, que es alérgica. Me ha quedado algo más de un ovillo y he empezado un bolso pequeño (tejeré hasta que se acabe el hilo) para incluir en el regalo.

Since some years, in the Christmas party with my colleagues, we celebrate a special invisible friend. Only one of us make a present and it is raffled among the others. The winner is in charge of providing the next present. Last year I was the one who got the gift (speakers and headphones bluetooth that my daughter kept for her). They admire the things that I make, so I thought: What better gift that something made by me? And as I didn't want to be in a hurry I started to crochet last spring. I've needed almost five balls of Lorena print of Ice yarns ( mixed of cotton and acrylic). I didn´t want to make it in wool because Maria is alergic. I have one ball and a bit more and I've started a little bag (I'm going to crochet until I'll have thread) to be included in the present.

MALA ELECCIÓN

El pasado día internacional de tejer en público, además del ovillo de lana, me regalaron una revista de DMC. Un modelo me gustó especialmente y empecé a tejerlo. Pero hay un problema: El hilo es multicolor y desmerece el trabajo. Así que voy a deshacerlo y tejerlo en un punto más sencillo que será más apropiado para este tipo de hilo, porque a veces menos es más. Este magnífico patrón me lo reservo para otra lana en color liso.

Last world wide day of knit in public, besides the big bag of wool, they give a DMC magazine as a present. I liked a pattern especially so I started to knit it. But there is problem: I'm knitting it in a multicoloured thread so it demeans the patters. For that I'm going to undo it and I'll start again with a new and simple pattern, because sometimes less is more. I'll reserve this superb pattern to another wool in one colour that I think it is more suitable.

REUNIÓN DE JUNIO

Ayer nos reunimos de nuevo en la confitería Laura. Como ya se aproximan las vacaciones faltaron muchas compañeras. Marisa vino solo un ratico. Bel intentó terminar un dragón amigurumi para Aldán, pero el peque no la dejó. Mi madre estuvo bordando un bolso vaquero. Mari Carmen y Mercedes están tejiendo un bebé amigurumi al que no le falta detalle (incluido el culete y el ombligo). Yo al fin terminé un chal que he llevado a las tres últimas reuniones.

Yesterday we were in Laura´s candy shop. Holidays are very close, so a few of us were outside. Marisa went only for a while. Bel tried to finish a dragon amigurumi but Aldán didn't let her. My mother was embrodering a jeans bag. Mari Carmen and Mercedes were crocheting a baby amigurumi that has all the details (navel and small ass included). At last, I finished a shawl that I carried to the three last meetings.

DÍA INTERNACIONAL DE TEJER EN PÚBLICO

El pasado sábado se celebró el Día Internacional de Tejer en Público. Este año recibimos una invitación de Inma y Miriam desde "Un hada entre telas". Desafortunadamente, como el encuentro fue por la mañana sólo pudimos ir mi madre y yo. El encuentro fue en el Jardín de la Pólvora a la sombra de un ficus así que no pasamos nada de calor.

Lo pasamos estupendamente, conocimos un nuevo grupo de mujeres tan apasionadas como nosotras por los hilos y las agujas. Estuvimos tejiendo unos grannies para hacer un proyecto en común (posiblemente una manta), en total hicimos más de 40.

Además hicieron un súper sorteo en el que todas nos llevamos algún regalo lanar (que mejor forma de celebrar mi  cumpleaños ,me parece increíble pero ya hace 46 años que nací).

Last Saturday was celebrated the Word Wide Knit in Public. This year we recieved a invitación by Inma and Miriam from "Un hada entre telas". Unluckily, the meeting was in the morning; for that only my  mother and I were available to join. The meeting was in the Pólvora Garden under the shadow of a ficus tree so it wasn't hot.

We had a lot of fun, we met a new group of women as passionate about knitting and crocheting as us. We were crocheting grannies to make a share project (probably it will be a blanket), we made more than 40 in total.

Besides, they run a raffle and all of us had a thread present (It was the best way to celebrate my birthday, I think it's incredible but it was 46 years since I was born).
